Osaka University, Gadjah Mada University and ISI Yogyakarta presenting the 14th Urban Research Plaza forum. This event was held at ISI Yogyakarta, on 22nd February, 2016. URP is a research center founded by Osaka University in April 2016. The URP is the center of urban studies with a framework based on the existing buildings in the public areas. URP aims to create a research organization in urban areas in the 21st century which is implemented with a various of unique approaches. The theme of the 14th URP 2016 is “A New Community Management through Arts and Cultures.” The emphasis of this theme in on how art and traditional culture can continue and survive in urban communities. The focus of research on community management between Japan and Indonesia, and the effectiveness of community management in the revitalization or renewal of traditional art.
The speakers of the 14th URP were as follows: 1) Yohana Ari Ratnaningtyas, Wayan Dana, and Ni Nyoman Sudewi (ISI Yogyakarta); 2) Takuya Oi (Osaka City University, Japan); 3) Fahmi Prihantoro and Ghifari Yuristiadhi (UGM, Yogakarta); 4) Suci Lestari Yuana (UGM, Yogyakarta); 5) Victoria Lara Labaila (UGM, Yogyakarta); 6) Danang Bramasti (ISI, Yogyakarta).
