Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta On July 8, 2024, made a joint visit to the Royal College of Art or what we know as RCA. The Royal College of Art is a public research university in London, England, with campuses in South Kensington, Battersea and White City. RCA is the UK’s only fully graduate university of art and design. RCA offers postgraduate degrees in art and design and has students from more than 60 countries. The visit of the FSR ISI Yogyakarta delegation at RCA was received by Professor Rachel Garfield as Director of the RCA Doctoral Program, and RCA doctoral program student Martin Bonney. In his speech Prof. Rachel Garfield wishes Welcome to the No. 1 University of Art and Design in the world. Prof. Rachel said in her speech that every year RCA is looking for students who have a creative background and or they are about to change professions. Prof. Rachel also said students studying at RCA will get unparallelled opportunities To improve their practice, build their network, overcome real-world challenges, and improve their careers. FSR ISI Jogjakarta is very proud to be able to collaborate with RCA because RCA as the Number 1 University in the world in the Subject of Fine Arts and Design, wants to welcome the request for the visit of FSR ISI Yogyakarta which is currently ranked 151 – 200 in QS by Subject Visual Art and Design. During this visit, the ISI Yogyakarta delegation was invited to visit all teaching and learning facilities at the RCA campus in South Kensington. After the RCA campus tour, the event continued with a joint meeting. In the meeting Prof. Rachel explains the curriculum and learning activities at RCA. The delegation of FSR ISI Yogyakarta submitted a request for cooperation and MoU as well as the IA Plan which can be started immediately as the opening of cooperation between ISI Yogyakarta and RCA. For the first IA activity, FSR ISI Jogjakarta submitted a request to Prof. Rachel will be a speaker at the ARCADESA Symposium which will be held in Yogyakarta on September 27-28, 2024 at the Ajiyasa FSR ISI Yogyakarta Building and Alana Hotel Yogyakarta. Prof. Rachel stated that she was willing to be a speaker at the Symposium and scheduled other activities such as Joint Research, Lecturer Exchange and Student Exchange. The visit at RCA ended with a joint photo and a warm tea to the rain that afternoon in South Kensington. Thank you RCA, hopefully this cooperation plan can improve the quality of learning at FSR ISI Jogjakarta and can increase the QS World by Subject FSR ISI Yogyakarta ranking.
