Dear Friends;
Many warm greetings from Turkey;
I am a Turkish musician and scholar living in the USA and Turkey. As you can see from my short bio and from my Web site, I have been presenting traditional Turkish mystic Sufi music concerts all across the United States as well as England, India, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Bulgaria, Iran, Tunisia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Turkey and many other international locations. I have published 5 CDs and a Turkish mystic Sufi poetry anthology book titled “Quarreling with God” in the US (White Cloud Press, OR, 2007).
I will be doing a concert/lecture tour in your region in Summer of 2024, presenting my program at universities, festivals, and concert halls and arts councils. I am wondering if we can together create an opportunity to present this very educational and entertaining cultural program to your students and to your community.
In addition to a full evening concert, I can also offer one or more lectures or workshops if you wish. That way we can create a full cultural experience thru the concert and lecture-workshops. You can tailor the package to fit your particular needs, choosing from educational lecture and workshop subjects such as:
-A new perspective about Islam and Islamic mysticism (Sufism)
-1000 years of Turkish Sufi practices: philosophy, music, poetry, dance and rituals
-Turkish music genres, Turkish music theory and polyphonic choir/orchestra workshops
-Turkish and Ottoman History from Central Asia to Anatolia
